FILTHY RIDDIM
One of my greatest fears is that on the night I propose the very moment the request leaves my lips the filthy riddim will drop to which my wife will respond to by singing Lady G ‘Breeze off’ I imagine that she will be so enraptured that by the second verse she will begin to aggresively rock her hips and violently slap her thighs as if caught up in some sort of rejection Haka. Upon finishing the song she will tell me the whole relationship was a joke and she never wanted the two bastard children we have. Both Beenie Man and Mr Vegas use this riddim to offer sentiments of female independence with ‘Let him go’ Beenie man calls for women to find self initiated liberty and Mr Vegas’ ‘Heads High’ propagates rarely for dancehall both female empowerment and oral chastity.
